Sunset and the Garden of Roses / Naplemente és rózsakert

This post is not for the faint-hearted ;) I spent the last two weeks creating cakes, pretty colourful ones.

These cakes were inspired by the sunset’s vibrant pinks and oranges and a garden full of roses. First I started with „simple” shades cakes: six layers of sponge going from the darkest to the palest, covered with rich cream, decorated with a single rose. Then I combined the the pink and orange to create a sunset cake and ornated it with a pink and an orange rose. Then came the Sun King: a four-layer cake monster in pink and orange, decorated with no less than 46 pink and orange roses. It took days to create the roses, and shocking, that 40 roses are fit into 2 icecream spoons.

Ez a bejegyzés nem a gyenge lelkűeknek szól ;) Az elmúlt két hetet színes torták készítésével töltöttem.

A tortákat a naplemente vibráló rózsaszín és narancs árnyalatai és egy rózsakert ihlették. Először „egyszerű” árnyalat tortákkal kezdtem: 6 réteg piskóta a legsötétebbtől a legvilágosabb árnyalatig, krémmel bevonva, egyetlen rózsával díszítve. Ezt követte a két szín kombinációjaként a naplemente torta, narancs és rózsaszín tortával díszítve. Végül a Napkirály zárta a sort: 4 rétegű, rózsaszínben és narancsban pompázó tortaszörny, nem kevesebb, mint 46 rózsával dekorálva. Napokba telt csak a rózsákat elkészíteni, és sokkoló, de 40 rózsa elfért két műanyag jégkrémes kanálban.

Nursery beds 2 / Gyerekágyak 2

 

I found a lovely scrapbook paper last week, which gave me the inspiration to make this little bed. The paper was sepia colour decorated with simple drawing of bees. Therefore the bed got the Miss Honeybee name. It is a silver soldered iron and steel bed, decorated with tiny flowers on the four bedposts. Painted to aged white, adorned with a lovely stripy mattress and a bee pattern pillow. (yes, there are tiny bee faces ont he pillow).

What if you get two little girls? These two beds, Little Princess and Miss Honeybee are just the perfect choice for them. Here are decorated with my favourite little bears, Edmund and Emma again.

A múlt héten ráleltem egy mesés scrapbook papírra, ez inspirált a legfrissebb apró ágy elkészítésében. Egyszerű, szépia színű papír, letisztult vonalú méhecske rajzokkal borítva. Ennek köszönheti az ágy a nevét: Miss Honeybee (Mézelő Méh Kisasszony). Ezüsttel hegesztett vas-acél kombináció, apró virágdísszel a négy ágylábon. Öregített fehérre festve, csíkos matraccal, és méh mintás párnával. (igen, azok ott aprócska méhfejek a párnán).

Mi történik, ha két kislányod van?  A Kishercegnő és a Mézelő Méh Kisasszony a tökéletes választás számukra. Az utolsó fotón kedvenc apró medvéimmel, Ödönnel és Emmával dekorálva.

Méretek: szélesség: 6 cm, hosszúság: 12 cm

Pink Decadence / Rózsaszín dekadencia

 

When I soldered the black chairs I wrote about in my previous post, an absolutely hilarious idea came into my mind:

I decided to keep the sample chair myself.  A chair, I used to calculate the correct proportions and curviness. Why shall I not paint it pink instead of black? So the idea of the Pink Decadence was born.

I decided  to use the pink „Libertine” cakes I made years ago, my favourite pink-green macaron tower, and several St. Honoré cakes, tiny Venus’ breasts cakes and luscious festive cakes. As I mentioned, I used the same chair, and the same table sample. BUT painted the chair with a layer of black paint at first, then pink, but sanded back some of the pink to get a shabby effect. And commited the same crime on the table: I paint the leg with pink enamel paint and the tabletop with pink-grey wide stripes.

I know it is a bit unusual, especially from me, but it was a good fun to make.

Amikor az előző posztomban szereplő fekete székeket hegesztettem, egy vicces ötlet jutott eszembe:

megtartom a mintaszéket (nem, nem hintaszéket, mintaszéket ;) ) magamnak. A széket, amit arra használtam, hogy kiszámítsam a helyes arányokat, a lábak, támla, karfa görbületét. Nos, miért ne festhetném rózsaszínre fekete helyett? Ezzel megszületett a Rózsaszín Dekadencia ötlete.

Úgy döntöttem, az évekkel ezelőtt készített rózsaszín „Libertinus” tortákat használom a jelenethez, a zöld-rózsaszín macaron tornyot, epres és málnás St. Honoré tortácskákat, apró Vénusz mellbimbója sütiket, és ínycsiklandó ünnepi tortákat. Mint mondtam, ugyanazt a széket, és asztalt használtam, mint az előző posztban. DE a széket először lefestettem egy réteg fekete festékkel, majd rózsaszínnel, és az utóbbit visszacsiszoltam a kopottas hatás kedvéért. Ugyanezt a bűnt követtem el az asztalon is: a lábat rózsaszín zománcfestékkel festettem le, míg az asztallap széles rózsaszín-szürke csíkozást kapott.

Tudom, hogy kicsit szokatlan, különösen tőlem, de roppant jó móka volt elkészíteni.

Sweet Dreams / Édes álmok

Dear new Readers, welcome to my blog :) I'm happy you joined :)

My hand didn’t recover yet, so I spent my time with working with clay. Though pink is not my favourite, sometimes I’m in pink mood and make something totally-utterly pink, like this one, which contains a delicious pink cake, heart-shape St. Honoré cakes, cupcakes, religieuses, macarons, meringues and marshmallow:

I created some blueberry scenes too (baking blueberry cakes, etc.) these are still unfinished, so I will post photos about them later, but I can tell you I made at least 300 blueberries this weekend.

I prepared several vegetable quiches with eggplant and zucchini, some tapenade, paté and a Provencale Picnic scene with baguette, tapenade, quiche and ratatuille:

Now it seems I have at least a week more for „claying”, (never every try to open a factory size door with one finger, even when your hands are full with packs) which will be enough to complete the blueberry-items J Then I will return to my salon de thé.

Kedves új Olvasók, Isten hozott a blogon :) Örülök, hogy csatlakoztatok :)

Mivel a kezem még mindig gyógyult meg, továbbra is gyurmázással töltöm az időm. Bár a rózsaszín nem a kedvencem, néha „rózsaszín üzemmód”-ban vagyok, és csinálok valami abszolút rózsaszínt, mint például ezt, ami egy finom rózsaszín tortából, szív formájú St. Honoré tortácskákból, muffinokból, religieuse-ökből, macaron-okból, habcsókokból és pillecukorból áll.:

Készült néhány áfonyás jelenet is (áfonyás süti sütés, stb.), de ezek még befejezetlenek, csak később posztolok róluk fotókat, de elmondhatom, legalább 300 csöppnyi áfonyát csináltam a hétvégén.

Csináltam néhány zöldséges quiche-t is (francia lepény) padlizsánnal és cukkinivel, tapenade-ot (olajbogyó, fokhagyma, szardella, kapribogyó, olivaolaj, citromlé, bazsalikom), pástétomot és egy Provence-i piknik jelenetet baguette-tel, tapenade-dal, quiche-sel és ratatuille-jal (francia lecsó szintén padlizsánból és cukkiniből, cseppet csípősen a legfinomabb):

Úgy tűnik még legalább egy hetem van játszadozni a gyurmával (soha, de soha ne akarjatok egy ipari méretű kaput egy ujjal kinyitni, bármennyire is tele van mindkét kezetek), ami elegendő lesz az áfonyás (t)ételek befejezéséhez, utána következik a visszatérés a teaszalonhoz J

Valentine's Day's St. Honorés / Valentin napi St. Honoré tortácskák

Finally I was able to take some photos about the heart shaped St. Honoré cakes this afternoon. I made the cookie cutter from metal, the hearts are 1 cm wide at their widest point. I made strawberry (the dark one) and rose (the light pink) flavoured St. Honoré cakes and two "big" ones, which are 2 cm wide. The cakes are decorated with tiny pink hearts and I used tiny red glass beads to simulate pommegranate on the strawberry flavoured + on the big ones as extra decoration.

Yesterday and today I made 72 tiny chocolate petite fours (photos will come later) and on the weekend I plan to make a Mad Hatter style cake fully packed with hearts, dots, flowers, etc.

Végül sikerült ma délután néhány fotót készítenem a szív alakú mini St. Honoré tortácskákról. Fémből készítettem a kivágóformát, a szívek 1 cm szélesek a legszélesebb pontjukon. Eper ( a sötétebb) és rózsa ( a világos rózsaszín) ízesítésűt készítettem, és két „nagyot”, ami 2 cm szélesek. A tortácskákat kicsi rózsaszín szívekkel díszítettem, és apró vörös üveggyöngyöket használtam gránátalmamagként, mint extra dekoráció.

Tegnap és ma 72 apró csokoládé aprósüteményt csináltam (fotók később lesznek) a hétvégére pedig egy Bolond Kalapos (Alice Csodaországban) stílusú tortát szánok, tele szívekkel, pöttyökkel, virágokkal, stb.

The first Valentine Day cookies / Az első Valentin napi sütik

I started to make Valentine Day cookies last week. I made several pink, VERY PINK cookies: pink linzers, pink heart shaped macarons, pink heart shaped ispahans with raspberries or strawberries, marzipan hearts with pink glitter decor. To be honest I made not only the cookies, but the cutters too, as I didn't find the perfect cutter, which was good in size and in shape too.

The pink heart shaped mini St. Honorés will come later this week, followed by different pink heart shaped cakes.

A múlt héten hozzáfogtam a Valentin napi sütik készítéséhez. Számtalan rózsaszín, NAGYON RÓZSASZÍN sütit csináltam: rózsaszín linzereket, rózsaszín, szív alakú macaron-okat, rózsaszín, szív alakú ispahan-okat málnával és eperrel vagy éppen marcipán szíveket rózsaszín csillám díszítéssel. Őszintén szólva nemcsak a sütiket, de a kiszúróformákat is én csináltam, mivel nem találtam olyat ami formában és méretben is tökéletes lett volna.

A rózsaszín, szív alakú mini St. Honoré-k a héten következnek, őket követik majd a különböző rózsaszín, szív alakú torták.

Happy Birthday Little Princess!

I spent some days on this week with food making. It sounds strangely, but I missed it.... First I just made some apple and pears:

then decided to make something not too fancy, but lovely, so I made a chocolate fountain with ripe strawberries, biscuits and marshmallow. Somehow I was in pink mood and made pink candies and pale pink meringues to upgrade the scene. I plan to sell the chocolate fountain, but probably will keep the second tray with the pink and green plates.

And now, as I don't have any marshmallow, candy or chocolate in my pantry, I think I will eat an apple...

I can tell you it is really-really hard to make yummy and tasty food and eat nothing of it :-(

Shabby Chic 2

I finished the pink and blue furniture sets, and just happened again... I like the blue one so much, that I will keep it to myself. I think I will build a roombox with blue and golden walls and cover the floor with very dark brown floorboards.

As you see I couldn't resist and placed some religiuses and St. Honore onto the small pink table. The cream and green kitchen cupboards will be ready by next midweek :)) Aaaand after that I will continue the salon de thé.

Shabby Chic Furniture

I couldn't work as much as I wanted, but fortunately I have something to show you. I decided to make furniture which I can use in my future projects if no one wants to buy them.
I applied several layers of water based paint to get the "real" affect and use some of my favourite colours: muted pale pink, greyish blue with white, verbena green and pale cream (these two will be finished by next week.... I hope so...).
Here are the pale pink cupboard, which is a real treat to a romantic woman, wallpapered with toile de Jouy and baroque patterns, filled with an aged toile de Jouy pillow (same pattern as the paper on the shelves) and a toiletry basket.

I decided to paint a small table which goes well with the cupboard and plan to make a bed and a chair to complete a bedroom interior.

Here comes my personal favourite, the pale greyish blue desk with "marble" top. The door is decorated with wallpaper and the same pattern were repeated inside the drawers.

I made a small table too in matching colour, which is suitable for embroidering or reading.

I think the fake marble top came out quite well.
